1995 Mazda RX-7 SP
This is your opportunity to buy into Australian motoring history with this rare, Australian-only, homologation-special sport car - the RX-7 SP.
One of only about 40 ever produced, the RX-7 SP was upgraded from the base model RX-7 by Mazda Motorsport with endurance racing in mind. Key upgrades include a revised nose cone (carbon fibre), rear wing (more carbon fibre), vented bonnet, bigger brakes, 3" exhaust (4" tip), 17" rims with wider tyres, bigger turbos, revised airbox with ram air ducting (even more carbon fibre) and a whopping 110L fuel tank (would you believe, even that is carbon fibre!). In addition to those factory-fitted go fast bits which boosted power to 204kW and 357Nm, the SP is decked out with many Australian touches including kangaroo corner plates in the windows, kangaroo wheel rim centre caps, Mazda Motorsport badging on the front strut brace and of course the official SP emblem on the rear. This vehicle is fitted with an aftermarket ECU (Apexi Power-FC), however the original ECU can also be provided with the car.
As a high mileage vehicle, this car is priced at a level you are never likely to see repeated, with the value of these cars increasing wildly every year. It remains a stunning head-turner to this day, with nearly every drive resulting in random thumbs up, compliments, or requests for photos. Get in quick to secure this rare and iconic sports car!
Purchased second hand in 2000 from Penfold Mazda, the last 24 years has seen this car driven regularly and well maintained, with no expense spared to keep it in great condition. Always serviced at specialist rotary mechanics (Rank Rotary, Maztech, Sabbadin Automotive), it finally saw a new motor at 235,000kms - a brand new motor, not a rebuild with second hand parts - and with under 30,000kms on that new motor the vehicle is mechanically very strong. Both the interior and exterior do have some wear and tear, though much less than you might expect for the mileage. Any significant marks are shown in the provided photos.
